Amy's hotel career began in 1988 as a Rooms Division Intern with Outrigger Hotels Hawaii.  Her career spanned a variety of operational management positions with Prince Resorts Hawai'i, Ka'anapali Beach Hotel, and Marriott Hotels and Resorts on the islands of O'ahu and Maui.  The second half of Amy's career was spent in the timeshare sector of the industry holding executive management positions with Marriott Vacations Worldwide on the islands of Kaua'i and O'ahu.  Her experience included new resort openings and major renovation projects with a number of the resort of the year awards in financial performance. guest satisfaction and employee engagement.   Amy was also a part of Marriott Vacation Club's Hawaii region corporate training team for company-wide guest service initiatives.  After a rewarding resort management career, Amy joined the Kapi'olani Community College 'ohana in 2016 bringing years of experience to the classroom to inspire future tourism leaders.  Included in Amy's course offerings are HOST 100 - Career & Customer Service Skills; HOST 101, Introductions to Hospitality & Tourism;  HOST 156, Front Office Management; HOST 320 - Vacation Ownership and Condominium Hospitality Operations;  HOST 330 -  Sustainable Hospitality Facility Design & Operations.
